There is a lot to consider when looking for a dog to train as a Service Dog. Structure, health, a strong desire to retrieve, people oriented and confidence. Training time for a good Service Dog is approximately two years. There are so many nice dogs available in the rescue community, it would be beneficial for all if we could use them as Service Dogs. We have found we have to work with ten rescued dogs to find one that can fill the job.

The least expensive and most efficient way to have suitable dogs is to find breeders whose dogs have all the health clearances for their breed, their structure certified as healthy and the strong desire to retrieve. These breeders have donated pups for Puppy Raisers to raise toward their life as a Service Dog. We are eternally grateful.

Red Dirt Doodle ranch is a small family kennel located in central Oklahoma. We have shipped and hand delivered our Doodles to all over the United States (and even some to Canada). We are committed to raising exceptional Doodles in a way that preserves the integrity, nobility, and magnificence of this amazing dog breed. Our puppies are raised as-family oriented pets and we would love to help you add one to your family today!

AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.

We (Jim and Janet Ervin) have been married since 1983 and have two wonderful children, Jennifer and Jason (human). We live in central Oklahoma, just north of Oklahoma City. We live out on 10 acres to continue our adventure in being a Labrador Retriever breeder. Our first addition to the family was Ervin's Golden Apollo. Apollo captured our hearts from the moment we set eyes on him! We purchased him in 1999 and discovered that his pedigree relates him to Kelleygreen in Nevada. We visited there and were inspired by Sally and her love for the breed.
