Learn How You Can Help A New Leash on Life
Be a Service Dog in training Puppy Raiser.
The most important part of training a Service Dog is to acclimate a puppy to the distractions of being in public. The only way we can accomplish this is for volunteers to take on the task of raising a future Service Dog puppy. The pups live with the volunteer until they are approximately fourteen to sixteen months of age. We ask that the pup be taken somewhere, in public, at least three times a week. Many Puppy Raisers simply take them everywhere. It is a great community service project for a student or if a family is unable to make the lifetime commitment required for a family pet.
